In order to commemorate the 128th birth anniversary of Dr. Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan on 22nd December 2015, we, at National Hill View Public School, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, celebrated GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations & Training) Week. Students of Class V took part in a Math Relay Race where they had to answer a series of questions to move ahead in the race. Puzzles, Sudoku and an exciting Mathematics Quiz were the activities conducted for various other classes. Pin-up boards were prepared by students to depict various concepts like similar triangles, congruent triangles and mid-point theorem with an interactive session where students had to find solutions to the questions asked based on these concepts. Students of Class X measured the surface areas and volumes of combination of shapes like cubes, sphere, cuboids and frustum of a cone which made them learn concepts in an interesting and innovative way .Students solved problems based on BODMAS where numerals were used from different systems which was labelled mathematical calligraphy. All these activities created the spirit of enquiry, thereby reducing the fear of Mathematics to a great extent.
